The certification course provides students with a strong theoretical base and experiential focus for learning. Our curriculum integrates the philosophy, practical application, and professional aspects of coaching. The course is delivered as two sections: Foundations for Coaching and The Coaching Core. Foundations is a prerequisite three-day intensive seminar. The Coaching Core is delivered over five modules sequentially integrated in a four-month series. Three of the modules are seminars (three-day intensives), one is a tele-class (meeting weekly by phone), and one is a practicum (focusing on experiential learning).

Course requirements include supervised peer and client coaching, as well as completion of written case studies and book reviews.

Each student has a course advisor throughout the course, and class size is limited to sixteen per series, to ensure that each student receives ample support. There are numerous opportunities to make valuable alliances at The Centre, with high-caliber classmates, an active alumni community, and accomplished instructors. Our faculty members are certified professional coaches who hold advanced degrees and are respected leaders and role models in the community. They facilitate self-discovery and forward the development of each student’s distinctive coaching voice.

The Centre is committed to the fundamental premise that coaching is a partnership, and all support is offered in that spirit: Together is better.

The certification course introduces students to a variety of resources for learning. Each student receives selected texts along with a Coaching Manual consisting of lessons, exercises, and practices to accompany each learning module. Materials are designed to serve and equip students throughout their professional careers. These are the tools of the trade.

A certificate will be awarded to each student who successfully completes Foundations For Coaching and The Coaching Core, all course requirements, and passes a competency review. Evaluations are based on participation throughout the course and development of the coaching language and skills. A graduation ceremony honors each individual’s journey and celebrates the group’s achievements and success.
